Scholarship Guidelines 2024-2025

PURPOSE

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize the applicant’s athletic participation, dedication, sportsmanship, leadership, and character while representing Waukee Northwest High School athletics.

AWARD

The Northwest Athletic Booster Club will award FOUR $2500 scholarships (2 females, 2 males) for the 2024/2025 school year. Amount of scholarship and number of awards are determined upon monies available for each year.

ELIGIBILITY

  • The student applicant must be a Waukee Northwest graduating senior, in good standing and have no code of conduct violations.

  • Student must have participated in multiple seasons of athletic competition, including their senior year as an athlete or a manager, for the entire duration of the seasons associated with the applicant’s sports.

  • Applicants must intend to further his/her education at a technical school, a two year college, or a four year college/university.

  • The student’s parent/guardian must meet the following guidelines:

    • Be a member of the Booster Club for the 2024/2025 school year.

    • Must have completed at least one volunteer shift at a Booster Club event by the end of winter sports season of 2025.

DUE DATE:

Feb. 15, 2025

Late entries will NOT be accepted.

Winners:

  • Northwest Athletic Booster Club board members will review applications and provide a pool of final applicants to an independent committee of Northwest staff members who will make the final decision on scholarship recipients.

  • Winners will be announced and recognized at a Spring 2025 board meeting.

  • The scholarship payment will be sent directly to the college, university, junior college or trade school where the student is enrolled for the 2025-2026 academic year. Proof of enrollment will be required before any scholarship payment will be released.

Northwest Athletic Booster Club board members have the right to change or ammend yearly or as needed.
